The highest grade of Threws membership you can apply for, we award Fellowship to distinguished professionals who have made outstanding achievements and significant contributions in engineering, technology, or related disciplines for at least five years or more.

The Threws Fellow Membership is a program offered by The Threws that offers recognition and support to researchers and industry professionals who have made significant contributions to their respective fields

Eligibility for Threws Fellow Membership may be based on criteria such as:

  • Evidence of outstanding achievements in the field of Endeavour 
  • A record of publications in high-impact academic journals
  • A history of successful grant funding
  • A track record of leading successful research projects
  • Evidence of major impactful contributions to the field and industry

Membership in The Threws Fellow program may include benefits such as:

  • Access to funding opportunities and grant-writing resources
  • Opportunities for collaboration with other outstanding achievers as part of the Threws Fellow membership community

Earning the title of Threws Fellow is a prestigious honor, signifying exceptional contributions to the realms of science, technology, and research. Threws Fellow members, in addition to this recognition, play an active role in supporting The Threws’ research endeavors and are expected to extend their expertise to the broader research community by sharing their wealth of knowledge and experience.

 

Eligibility Criteria

The Research World (Threws) offers Fellow Membership to individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of engeneering, science, technology , academia and research. This membership is valid for life and is open to applicants who meet one of the following criteria:

Level 1 Minimum Eligibility Requirement for Application Consideration or Invitation.

  • Hold a Doctorate degree (PhD) or an equivalent terminal degree in their respective field, demonstrating the highest level of academic achievement.
  • Possess a Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of dedicated industry, academic, or research experience, demonstrating a deep commitment to their field and significant contributions.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, or other recognized professional courses, along with a distinguished track record of at least 10 years of hands-on experience in their specialized field, marked by significant original contributions.

Level 2 Evaluation Criteria for Fellow Membership:

The designation of Fellow represents an exceptional level of distinction within the profession and is bestowed by the Board of Directors upon individuals with an outstanding track record of achievements in any of the fields of interest within the organization. The recognized accomplishments must have made a substantial and meaningful contribution to the advancement or practical application of engineering, science, technology, and academic research thereby delivering significant value to society.

  • The ability to use the title RGFM (Research World Fellow Member) after their name.

Newly elevated Fellows are announced shortly after the fourth quarter Board of Directors meeting, normally scheduled in late-November/mid-December.

The nominee must meet the following three basic qualifications: have accomplishments that have contributed importantly to the advancement or application of engineering, science, and technology, bringing the realization of significant value to society; hold Senior member or Life Senior member grade at the time the nomination is submitted; and have been a member in good standing and has completed a minimum of five full years (consecutive or not) of membership in any grade preceding 1 January of the year of elevation.

The Fellow Nomination Process is started with a nominator. He/she will need to log in with an Primary Web Account.

Once a nomination is submitted, the references and endorsements listed on the form will automatically be notified.

A reference is a required part of the nomination process as it cites specific evidence of the nominee’s special qualities and impact of the nominee’s contributions. An endorsement may strengthen a nomination but is not required.
