Membership Eligibility

To be eligible for Threws Student Membership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Enrollment Status: You must be currently enrolled in a full-time or part-time School/ undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, technology, or a related discipline at an accredited institution.

  2. Academic Standing: You should be in good academic standing with your institution, maintaining a satisfactory grade point average as required by Threws.

  3. Interest in Professional Development: Demonstrate a keen interest in pursuing a career in engineering, technology, or related fields, and show a commitment to professional development and continuous learning.

  4. Verification: Provide proof of student status, such as a valid student ID, enrollment verification letter, or other documentation as requested by Threws.

By meeting these eligibility criteria, you can join Threws as a student member and take the first step towards a thriving career in your chosen field.

1 Year from the date of issue of the certificate.

As an industry focused society, to be a Student Member  you must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Must be enrolled in a university and carry at least 30% of a normal full-time academic load.
  2. Must have an academic concentration in petroleum or a related field.
  3. And at least one of the following:
    • Be pursuing the equivalent of a bachelors or graduate degree.
    • Attend a university with an established  student chapter.

Threws will contact your student chapter faculty sponsor to verify enrollment, or request a copy of your current transcript or proof of enrolment.

There are many opportunities to network and develop your skills through Threws programs and events. We also offer discounts on resources, scholarships and fellowships, and access to a global community to help build relationships with your peers.

The membership year is 1 January though 31 December. Members who choose Option 2 and join after 1 September pay for the following calendar year and receive the remaining months of the current year at no additional cost.
