π DATA MODELING DUEL: Schema Design & Optimization
Are you ready to prove your data modeling expertise? Join DATA MODELING DUEL, where database architects, data engineers, and developers compete to design and optimize efficient, scalable, and high-performance database schemas. Whether you’re working with SQL, NoSQL, or hybrid databases, this challenge will test your ability to create structured, normalized, and optimized schemas for real-world applications.
Can you balance performance, storage, and query efficiency while ensuring data integrity and scalability? Get ready to design, refine, and optimize your way to victory! π₯πΎπ
π Design. Optimize. Compete for data supremacy!
π Event Details
- Event Date: 2 May 2022
- Registration Deadline: 25 April 2022
π― Challenge Overview
Participants will be given real-world business scenarios and must design optimized database schemas that maximize efficiency, scalability, and performance. The challenge consists of:
πΉ Schema Design β Create an entity-relationship diagram (ERD) for a given use case.
πΉ Normalization & Optimization β Apply normalization techniques (up to 3NF) and denormalization where necessary.
πΉ Indexing & Query Performance β Define indexes, constraints, and relationships for faster queries.
πΉ NoSQL vs. SQL β Justify schema choices based on relational or document-based requirements.
π‘ Tools Allowed: MySQL Workbench, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or any ER diagram software.
β How to Participate?
1οΈβ£ Register Online β Sign up before 25 April 2022.
2οΈβ£ Receive the Challenge Brief β A business case and data requirements will be provided.
3οΈβ£ Design Your Schema β Create a logical and physical schema with relationships and constraints.
4οΈβ£ Optimize for Performance β Implement indexing, partitioning, and query tuning.
